Robert Cincotta
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
Associate Professor Robert Cincotta is an Obstetrician and subspecialist in Maternal Fetal Medicine. His major interests are in fetal therapy, prenatal diagnosis and the management of complicated pregnancies.
He is particularly interested in multiple pregnancies and has extensive experience in fetal laser surgery for Twin Twin Transfusion syndrome and introduced this service in Australia. He initially graduated and trained in Melbourne at the Royal Womens Hospital and the Mercy Hospitals.
He undertook further training in the UK at Queen Charlotte’s Hospital and then moved to the Department of Maternal Fetal Medicine at the Mater Mothers Hospital in Brisbane where he became director. He then established Queensland Ultrasound for Women. He maintains an appointment at the Mater’s Maternal Fetal Medicine Department and has published extensively on various aspects of Maternal Fetal Medicine.
He has been chairman of examiners for Maternal Fetal Medicine and is still an examiner for this subspecialty. He has also served as a member of the Queensland Maternal and Perinatal Quality Council.
JACKIE CHUA
DOCTOR
Dr Jackie Chua is a Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists accredited subspecialised Obstetrics and Gynaecology sonologist.
She is the current Head of Discipline in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for the Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound for the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine.
She also represents Queensland on the COGU subcommittee at RANZCOG and the Australian Association for Obstetrical and Gynaecological Ultrasonologists committee.
Dr Chua maintains public appointments at the Mater Mother’s Hospital and Ipswich Public Hospital. She has a special interest in fertility scanning and endometriosis assessment.
CAROL PORTMANN
DOCTOR
Carol is a Queensland trained doctor, obstetrician and Maternal Fetal medicine specialist. Over the past 20 years, she has gained experience and training in Queensland, NSW and London.
She was the acting clinical director of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital until 2012. In that time she provided care to women with high risk pregnancies; participated in the ongoing education and training of medical students, registrars and maternal fetal trainees; was involved in a number of committees overseeing protocols and guidelines for maternal care in Queensland.
Carol is committed to providing evidenced based prenatal screening and options to women.
